New ‘Spritzwear Gloves’ crafted from orange peel leather let al-fresco lovers sip in style, whatever the weather.

  • Vegan leather made in Italy from part recycled orange peel, turning Aperol’s signature ingredient into a winter essential.
  • Inspired by Britain’s ‘Cold-Hand Commitment’, the national habit of staying outside long after the weather says stop.
  • New research shows Brits are proudly weather-defiant, with one in three braving the elements all-year-round.
  • Each pair has been produced with a grip texture, leather alternative that prevents slippery glasses, and comes with credit for a complimentary Aperol Spritz at participating Young’s pubs and bars*.

LONDON, UK – 20th November 2025 – Aperol is helping Brits defy the frost this winter, launching the world’s first gloves made from orange peel leather to keep outdoor drinkers toasting in style.

Whether it’s dining in drizzle, daring shorts in December, or one last frost-fogged drink in the pub garden; Britain’s Cold-Hand Commitment runs deep. New research commissioned by Aperol reveals 29% of Brits complain about the weather then go out in it anyway, whilst one in three are steadfastly al fresco all year round; whatever the temperature.

This stubborn streak is woven into our winter social habits. Nearly one in five people, 18%, say that sitting outside with a drink in the cold feels like a small act of rebellion, and 17% admit outdoor winter drinking is more about pride than comfort.

This winter, Aperol is raising a glass to that defiant British spirit by launching the ultimate al-fresco accessory: the ‘Spritzwear Gloves’. Made with vegan leather produced in Italy and crafted from Aperol’s signature ingredient, Oranges. Using an innovative and patented leather alternative from Ohoskin® – which combines regenerated materials with biopolymers from oranges – the Spritzwear Gloves embody high style and next-level sustainability.

This unique material transforms what would be waste into a soft, high-performance accessory. With a luxury silk lining and a ‘grip texture’ engineered especially to ensure your glass remains secure in hand, the Spritzwear Gloves ensure that even as the temperature drops, your hand stays warm and your winter style stays sharp.

To encourage Brits to put them straight to use, each pair of gloves comes loaded with a £15 ‘Spritz it Forward’ credit, redeemable at participating Young’s pubs and bars nationwide. It’s Aperol’s way of helping Brits enjoy their first winter spritz on the house – while keeping local venues buzzing through the colder months.

Loris Contro, UK Brand Ambassador at Aperol says, “Brits are famously optimistic when it comes to the weather, especially when there’s a chance of fresh air and a great drink involved. These gloves are our way of saying, if the sun’s down, don’t put the Spritz down.”

The study also found that nearly one in five Brits (19%) say drinking outside feels more social and open than being indoors, proving the pub garden is far from a summer-only ritual.

The Aperol ‘Spritzwear Gloves’ will be available from today at Aperol, priced at RRP £30.

Because when life gives you oranges, make gloves…and a Spritz.
