Collectors wanting to capture a unique piece of some exceptional artefacts of Napoleon Bonaparte from a private collection are in for a treat. An expansive treasure of items which has never been to auction before will be auctioned by Sotheby’s Paris on the 25th of June 2025 at 14.30 French time. This remarkable collection of Imperial furniture, silverware, porcelaine, sculptures, paintings and manuscripts will stir collectors of French empire worldwide.  All from the collection of Pierre-Jean Chalencon who has dedicated his life to the pursuit of the great French leader.

The sale preview will be held in Paris between the 19th and 24th of June

 

 

Some of the highlights include a bicorne hat which is undoubtedly the most emblematic accoutrement worn by the Emperor estimated to go between 500,000 to 800,000 euros

An ornate herald sword and stick, crafted by arms-maker Boutet of Versailles with magnificent detailing of bees and thunderbolts, was wielded by the Chief Herald of the Empire at Napoleons coronation at Notre Dame in December 1804 is estimated to fetch between €200,000–€400,000

Other more unusual items include a field tent with its wooden box estimate 40,000 to 60,000 euros
