Cifonelli is a family run tailor with over 140 years of heritage who offer
made-to-measure, bespoke, and ready-to-wear services. Their extensive catalogue of
clients include Cary Grant, Charlton Heston, Fred Astaire, François Mitterand, and Josephine
Baker. To Cifonelli, each creation reveals not only the family’s expertise and craftsmanship
but also the client’s personality, shape, character, and charm.

Initially founded in 1880 by great-grandfather Giuseppe Cifonelli in Rome, Italy, the house
of Cifonelli has handed down their family traditions and values from generation to
generation. Currently, the tailoring house is run by great-grandson Lorenzo and cousin
Massimo Cifonelli, who are the fourth generation of the Cifonelli family, and who continue
to build upon the family legacy by weaving modern techniques into their tailoring while
respecting their family tradition. As two of the world’s most renowned tailors, they continue
to reinvent the bespoke service, creating perfect suits for each and every client.

Upon opening their first UK store, Lorenzo Cifonelli said, “Cifonelli has had a long and
meaningful relationship with London, where we have been holding trunk shows and
bespoke appointments for decades. Massimo and I are thrilled to finally open the doors of
our Cifonelli residence in the heart of Mayfair, to the world.” The upstairs of the store
features the Cifonelli Residence and ready-to-wear collections, with the tailor studio and
home of made-to-measure and bespoke downstairs. Massimo and Lorenzo take a personal
approach, meeting and cutting personally for each bespoke client

A distinct silhouette, Cifonelli tailoring combines the best of Italian, French and British
tailoring, resulting in a unique finish. Karl Lagerfeld, renowned German fashion designer,
once said that he could “recognize a Cifonelli shoulder from a distance of a hundred metres
the Cifonelli famous shoulder is cut toward the front and offers an unrivalled freedom of movement
of the high armholes, which refine the figure. A large number of creations demonstrate this perfect
command of forms and materials. Milan-style buttonholes, step
collars, special lapels and other stylistic devices perfectly symbolises the spirit of Cifonelli,
a true men’s haute couture company.”

This year, Cifonelli will be partnering with Chopard for the upcoming Festival de Cannes in
May and will be the sole partner for the newly opened members lounge for Le Mans 24,
celebrating the relationship between the art of bespoke and correlations between the
worlds of automotive design and tailoring.
